Shocks and Springs

New to this forum and have a question for you. Looking to buy new shocks and springs, but just put on Long Tube headers and can't lower it too much. Anyone have any experience with the SLP Bilstein shock and spring package? I only want to lower it by 1/2 an inch to 1 inch, and unfortunately, money is budgeted. looking to spend about $600. Any suggestions? (I'm looking for a spring/shock set up for handling. Bumpy back roads and such)
Oh, yeah, it's a 94 Z28.

PLEASE.. Stay FAR away from ANY SLP 'stuff'.. to put it politley.. I'm really sour about them..

THe SLP Bilstiens are actually valved for those springs.. But for a FAR supperior set up, go thru Sam Strano. www.stranoparts.com .. He's the god of suspension setups..

From what I gather, the 1LE springs are pretty decent w/ the Koni shocks..

If you want a canyon carver.. check this..

get some koni SA.....lower spring perch in the front and do the heater hose mod for the rear. the stock springs are not that bad, its the shocks that are the MAJOR weak link in the setup.

the koni's will make your ride much better, and you should sit about 1/2" or 3/4" lower.

although the koni's are expensive...you'll never need another set of shocks. and if you decide to go lower later, you can thow some springs on it, and be ready to roll.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a bit skeptical about using the stock springs. I think I'd prefer a matched spring and shock set up, but I'm still working on a budget. I've heard several ppl suggest Sam Strano, so maybe I'll just have to save a couple of dollars. Thanks again.

Anyone have any experience with the KYB AGX adj. shocks? Seems like a good price and a decent shock. Maybe not Koni's, but better than bilstein?

The AGX are not better than Bilstein. They're either hard or soft. Call Sam and talk to him. Save your $$ and do it right the first time.

I just spent a good while searching, and very few people have anything good to say about the KYB's.

Hmm, back to square one. Guess I'm gonna have to give Sam Strano a call and see what he says. I'll let you know what I decide on.
