SFC Install: Lift or Rack?
SFC Install: Lift or Rack?
I brought my '97 down to NE Dyno in Worcester, MA. He said he'd install a pair of Hotchkis SFC's I had purchased. I can't weld, so I have to bring it somewhere. I got there, and he only had a four point lift, no drive-on lift. I was under the impression that the car's suspension had to be loaded when installing weld-in SFC's, and thus on a rack. Hotchkis didn't slot the rear holes of the connectors long enough (where the trailering arm bolt goes through) so I have to go back June 4th to finish the job. Before I do that, I wanted to get some opinions. Also, anyone know of a better place to get this done in the Central Mass/Northern RI area? Thanks
Re: SFC Install: Lift or Rack?
when i had my BMRs welded in, it was on a drive on lift. I believe seeing somewhere if the suspension isnt loaded when you weld them on, when you finally put the weight back on the tires it will stress the welds too much.
