Rotors matter much?

I think its time for me to get new front rotors because they have developed heat cracks and are starting to pulsate when pushed hard. I got new ceramic pads on. I was wondering if the rotor really matters much brand wise? I am not interested in slotted or drilled. I dont want to spend a lot either. I see things on ebay like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33564 and was wondering if i should get those or would they be crap for stopping? Any other good sources for regular rotors and does the kind matter much it seems to me it has a lot more to do with pad than rotor.

In my opinion, the pads matter much more than the rotor.

My C5 front rotors were only $24 each.

Here's how you can bed in your new rotor and pads. Try heating up your brakes pretty good (6 medium stops from 35-5, and then 3 hard stops from about 45-5 and then drive for about 10 minutes without touching the brakes. See if that makes it go away first. When doing your medium and hard stops, don't come to a complete stop.

Re: Rotors matter much?

I checked at autozone and they even have em for under 20 a piece. I think im gonna change the front ones with these: http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...7C%7EEA%7C%7EB
the back ones seem alright for now. Will it work fine or will braking suck? I am just confused someone would spend a few hundred just on rotors when you can get em cheap and imho id think that the regular kind will stop better than slotted and drilled would because more contact area.
