Rear shocks removal on 98 z28 converitlbe?

How do you remove the top bolt of the shocks on the 98 convertible? I read there was a different panel for it than the coupes. I've been looking for the nut that holds it in but can't find it.

You need to remove the side panels in the back seat area. Peel the carpet forward and you will find the top of the shock. Rest is cake.

You can also just fold the seats down and cut the carpet in front of the holes. That way you wont have to take the side panels off and fold the carpet forward. Cut it so it's a flap that way you'll never be able to tell it was cut. Not that it matters because the seat covers it up.

Yeah, once you fold the back seat down the carpet seems to be perforated where the shock bolts are. Just cut out the 1/2 circle shaped thing and pull out the foam thats stuffed in the hole. The nut in there is a PITA, a racheting box wrench is what you need.
