It happened at roughly 40 MPH and I slammed nose first into the center divider for an avenue because I tried to avoid some car who merged illegally into my lane. Should have let him hit but I reacted before I thought... Anyway I'm getting some vibrations on the highway now and I don't know what to begin to check or what to even check for... Any insight? I wanted to avoid taking it to a shop before I knew what the problem was for the fear that they would tell me that EVERYTHING needs to be replaced in attempt to screw me over...

 

An alignment shop should give you an estimate before doing any work. 40 mph is pretty fast to hit a curb, you could have bent your rims, lower A-arms, ateering knuckles, tie rod ends and even damaged the K member.

 

Take it to an alignment shop to even see if there is anything wrong. Could be just out of align. If they can't align it then look for all the things desribed above. A friend of mine had a blow out going about 40 and she bent her lower a-arm pretty bad and also the strut tower.

 

Can't tell if you hit one or both tires.
Can almost guaranty you've damaged the tire/s and have flat spotted the rim/s. Look for small cuts in the side wall. You may have knocked the existing wheel weights off the rims. And you will have undoubtedly knock the alignment out.
Fix the wheels and tires, then get it realigned.
