anybody have an opinion...it seems to alternate sides...like it will do it turning left....then sometimes right or sometimes not at all........could it be air in the lines or bad rack or pump???

I have a 97 SS with the same problem. I have noticed it seems to only be doing it if I am running the AC...I think. I keep trying to relate it to one set of cercumstances where it does it. Let me know if any of you seem to be only or mostly having the noise when running the AC. It seems to me that it could be the Rack & Pinion mount bushings. And my theory has been that the rack mount bushings are worn and with a little added AC condensation leaking onto the bushings it's causing the kind of moaning noise. I have not investigated mine since it hasn't affected the operation of my steering so again this is just my theory.
