Question A quiet rotor/pad combination?

Apparently I've purchased some 'hard' crappy autozone pads for my car giving me the squeeks. I'm now considering replacing all my rotors and pads. However, I'm not looking for the most 'bite' or coolest looking. I'm looking for a good combination of pads and rotors that brake quietly, my car is a daily driver and I don't hot rod it too much in the city anyway. Anyone got any recommendations or good sites to check out?

just wondering, what pads did you get and what rotors do you have? asking because I just ordered some of their ceramics because I've heard they're good enough for a DD.

Wagner Thermoquiet. They are quiet and aren't a sports type pad.

Why replace your rotors?

Power stops and VGX pads. Not a sound from them and stop great. VGX pads are only $40. bux in Summit. Remember for any pad to work good and be quite they need to be broken in right. 30 stops 30 sec to cool at 30 mph.

Well, I have stock rotors on the back and new ones on the front (new ones are plain, no slots/drilled holes), and to be honest, I have no idea what kind of pads I have (threw out the boxes long ago). They are ceramic pads and are definitely bottom of the barrel.

Most of my squeeking apparently comes from the back and goes away for a while if I hit the brakes with brake cleaner. So I'm guessing I'm having some kind of dusting problem. Also, the rear rotors are smooth/shiney as if they are glazed over. I had them turned once and the squeeking went away for a few weeks before it came back...

I may give the wagners a shot and see what happens...

If you want quiet, avoid drilled or slotted rotors.
