Question about ball joints
Question about ball joints
I went to get my car aligned today and they called me back telling me that they can't do it because my ball joints are "getting ready to fall off". They said that they can do it for like 180 for all the labor and parts. Just wondering if that is a good price or not? Also how much are the ball joints and how hard are they to replace?
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
The tool from Auto Zone works great. I also bought ball joints from Auto Zone, Perfect Circle brand. Just replaced my lower ball joints. To seperate the joints from spindle you must use a ball joint separater "fork" and big hammer. The only way that ball joint tool from Auto Zone is going to work is by using an air compressor and impact, wrenching it is going to be tough or impossible.

Well supposedly my lower ball joints are pretty bad so hopefully they won't cause much problem getting them out. As far as getting the new ones in, are they really that hard to tighten in? Do you think a good torque wrench would be ok for installing them? I don't have an impact tools or compressor at all....
Thanks
