QA1 coilovers vs koni yellows
QA1 coilovers vs koni yellows
im trying to decide on either running koni yellows with eibach pro kit, or for actually a tiny bit less. run a QA1 12 way shock combo with coilovers in the front with the eibach rears only. anyone have any input on this setup, pros cons if either? car is gonna be a daily street driven corner carver, 95 camaro all tubular suspension etc. basically SPOHNS entire catalog on the car
from what i've read, for a true performance setup...the QA1s are not very effective. they work good for looks and for average cars. but since you want a canyon carver and have obviously spent the money elsewhere to reach that end...don't skimp now.

Do not use the terms "QA1" and "corner carver" in the same post.... the two terms are not compatible. QA1's are "drag" shocks..... straight line use. They have no other uses.
umm well it says there are 2 types drag version and handleing. QA1 make shocks for all sorts of racing track cars etc. not just drag. the ones im talking about arent the R series, im looking at the handling ones.
And there are bad cigarettes, and the healthier "light" versions. QA1's are drag shocks. Hell their "handling" springs are 325 pounds, about 33 pounds more than stock springs are. There is no, NO comparision here.
FWIW, throwing anyone's entire catalog at a car meant to work correct it a big no-no..... And Pro-kits aren't a horrible choice for handling, but also not the best.

I'm not saying it's poor quality, I'm saying a number of parts made are not ideal for handling, despite the descriptions often given. In short, most of the things you are likely looking at aren't going to be right. Their sway bar sets are the correct size, some type of contorl arms bind the rear axle articulation. Some Torque Arms aren't as good as others. Some PHB's aren't as good as others. And some parts are just useless, or worse work against you.

or this torque arm? http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1331
I have the 4th Gen F-Body QA1 setup (Proma-Star/Stocker-Star).... and not the "R" version. They are "drag" shocks. And, most of the ones I've seen have leaked after a fairly short period of time. You can choose to believe it, or not.
well i dont really care, i just asked which was better. seems to be the konis so im gonna go with them. i just figured they made something decent the coilovers on the front of my car are great quality. and i run strange in the rear. oh well, konis it is then.
