problem with ls1 brakes on lt1

I got the spindles and calipers in fine but the brake lines from the original calipers and the new calipers are to short. Acually 2 inches to short. Who makes a braided brake line? the new line needs to be about 15 inches long.

Thunderacing.com sells "Earl's Stainless steel" lines. they seem to be the most popular

the stock ones fit... if you don't make a full turn. it you were to make a full turn to fast I think it would rip the cable apart and you'd have no front brakes.

Re: problem with ls1 brakes on lt1

From what I have read about this swap most people seem to use the LT1 lines and bend the bracket on the body down to gain some slack. If you use the LT1 lines be sure to use the banjo bolt from the LS1 calipers.

I used the LS1 lines with the bracket from a LS1. You have to bend the hard line a lot to use the LS1 bracket.

If I was doing the swap again I would cut the hard line and bend it to match the LS1 bracket and reflare it.

I have seen a post somewhere that the lines from a 97-04 Corvette will work without having to bend anything but I have no idea if that is true.

Ive used the stock LT1 lines and bent the bracket... I have no problems turning lock to lock with it at all. and bending the bracket is not that extreme and wont damage anything.
