part number for aimco's slotted rotors at autozone??
I'm in bad need for rotors and I wanted 2 go the right way and get the slotted over the stockers. But they didn't have it in stock and couldn't even pull it the computer. So anyone out there with their drilled rotor please give me the number so I can be done with these people

I have em but I could not tell you the part number.
It should come up on the computer at autozone when you bring up front or rear brake rotors for a 94 Z28.
Its possible they may not be carrying them anymore, mine are 2 years old.

The part number for the fronts are 55014 and for the rears are 55027. I got mines at Metal master rotors for 160.00. They're in California, if you want the number I can get it for you

Slots and cross drills are for looks.
While talking about the right way, chose a better pad and get some fresh brake fluid in the lines.

Why go heavier?
Re: part number for aimco's slotted rotors at autozone??
Because rotors are a heat sink. More mass means it takes more heat (read friction) at longer durations for them to get to a given temp. If they have less mass it takes less heat at shorter durations to get them at the same temp.
In simple terms, they take more heat before they overheat or transfer the heat to the pads causing them to fade and the fluid to boil. They're also less prone to warpage. The stock rotors are 16 lbs. Think how crappy they are.
Good stock replacements 18-19lbs, stock sized Brembo 19lbs, stock sized Baer over 20lbs. See where this is going?
Now lets say you x-drill. You have now lost not only surface area for the pads to grab but mass while creating nice stress points for fractures to form.
