Parking brake does not work correctly after new pads and cables installed???

The other day my e-brake cable snapped at the piece that holds the two rear cables together. I replaced the front cable that goes from the hand brake and has the "splitter" on the opposite end and replaced the rear passenger side brake cable that goes from the "splitter" to the rear caliper (driver side rear cable was fine). I also installed a new set of brake pads while I was at it. The brakes are working great, but the e-brake is a different story. I can only pull the e-brake up 2-3 clicks and it is VERY hard to pull up on the e-brake lever. When I get it up 2-3 clicks the e-brake can't even hold the car on a slight incline??? Can anyone give me some insight on what I may need to adjust or what might be wrong? The car is a '96 LT1 Z28, M6. Thanks!

Jeff

Double check your installation of the e-brake cable. Sounds like something is hanging up.
