This pobably belongs in the AutoCross forum but, this seems to be the most popular forum. I wantd to know if ayone hsused the PA tubular k-member, lower control arms...etc... They look exactly like the BMRs stuff, just a different type of bushing (doesnt use polyurethane). Thanks everyone!

 

The BMR stuff is a different design (IOW, fabricated independant of the PA stuff). The welds on the BMR stuff are top notch.

Yeah, this is or is about the most popular forum (I think the Lounge has overtaken this one now LOL!) but it is that way because the topics are "on topic". If the posts here were all off topic then the excellent members we have answering questions here would soon get fed up and not come back. So, we need to keep the topics in the proper forums. Some of the workmanship/welding on the PA stuff looks very poor. A friend on mine broke the welds on his, but that did involve a substantial "drop" from a wheelstand, and PA replaced the K-member. But the BMR looks a heck of a lot higher quality in terms of design and fabrication.

 

Keep in mind that PA/Pro Fab is under different management/ownership now too. I had a PA k-member about 2 years ago and I got rid of it because the welds looked so-so (found several on the motor mount pad that actually had holes in them) and the tubes weren't even cleaned before powdercoating. The BMR stuff is A+ quality and always has been.

 

I have some good info that Spohn will be offering a K-member.... just not sure when. When its available, I'll have one.

Okay, I was a little curious about PA/Pro Fab. Saw some on ebay and it was 200 bucks. Lower control arms were around 75. Pretty darn cheap but then again you get what you pay for. BMRs are just really expensive! I cant believe that they are selling the k-members for 425!! Sounds crazy to me, but like always...you get what you pay for.

I'd like to wait it out and check out spohns k-member first before diving into my suspension and chassis work.

I would be interested to know a bit more on this matter... I drive my car hard when it goes out and i would like to have a top notch unit for it.

I wanted to have a chrome moly version but it lookse like BMR doesn't do a chrome moly version.

 

i have pa's chromoly k member and a arms with coilover setup and haven't had any problems but i'm not doing wheel stands or ditch jumping....

 

Can you post weight differences??? improvements??? I like the PA..

Neither will the stocker if you slam it agasint the floor when it comes back down.

 

yep, drive it like an idiot and all things will break....

 

my buddys lucky then because he's flying in the air, bounces down and then comes back up for a little more air. he does have a cromoly k.
