noise on new brake setup

is it normal for a new brake set up to make some noise? i am hearing a rubbing sound from the rears...much like if the rotors were slightly warped...but thats not right seing they only have 10 miles on them.

also, on the first few full stops...as soon as i come to a dead stop, there was a louder sound. almost like a bang. but that went away after a few stops. is this all normal?

Re: noise on new brake setup

MORE UPDATE -

it is the front passanger side that is making the noise. it was making the noise before the new brakes. i just thought the old ones were warped. is it possible that there is a problem in the hub bearings?

I have notices taht when i lift the car...all the wheels rub, but not loudly. but the front passanger is really loud. almost seems as though the rotor is tilted. i have also noticed the sound gets louder when i am accelerating, or when braking. but quieter if just costing.

Remove the wheels and make sure the rotors are flat against the hub the reinstall the wheels. I've seen the rotor get loose when installing the wheel and still not set flat once the lugs are on.

Re: noise on new brake setup

is this a common thing? I had the same thing on my stock brake set-up. but i will try that when i get home. Is there a way i can make sure the rotors are sitting flat against the hub when installing the wheel? why would the noise get louder under acceleratoin and braking?

also, is there anyway to eliviate the rubbing on the other wheels? it is not as severe as the one.

Ok...i took the wheel, rotor and caliper back off. inspected everything. put it all back together. The rotor is sitting flat against the hub...but it is still rubbing. I also notice a slight noise from the hub...and have a feeling there is a flattened bearing in there. can at bad set of bearings cause this problem?
