No Brake lights

96 T/A
Ok guys I need a little help.
I have no brake lights except for the third
light in the wing.

The switch is good and all the bulbs in the tail lights
are working.

I tested the tail lights with a Power Probe though the tail light harness under the hatch.

I have emergency flashers and turn signals but no brake lights.

All fuses are good.

Any ideas?

I searched Shoe Box’s site looking for a wiring diagram
of the brake light circuit but didn’t see anything.

The yellow (left) and dark green (right) wires with the "A" and "B" triangles go the the rear brake lights.

Re: No Brake lights

While you'll have to go through the the wiring to check for bad connections to be sure, it is likely the turn signal switch.

Re: No Brake lights

Thanks for replying guys.
After trouble scooting with the Power Probe I come to the same conclusion,
it must be the turn signal switch.

Is this common with F-bodys?

I guess I’ll look around on Shoe Box’s site to see if there’s some info on R&R for the
turn signal switch.

Re: No Brake lights

It's called a multi-function switch. I need one to try and fix an intermittent cruise problem. Let me know if you find one.

Re: No Brake lights

I fixed it about 10min ago, it was the plug coming from the switch on the lower column.

It was my fault, I dropped the column about 2 weeks ago to change some bulbs in the interment cluster
and must have disturbed the plug.

One end was unlatched and pulled apart about ¼ inch.
I plugged it back up and now I have brake lights

The cruse works through the stalk, the stalk snaps into
the turn signal switch and that’s the only relation that they share.

It is listed as a turn signal switch in my 96 T/A
