New shocks and springs

How hard is it to replace shocks and springs on a regular 3.4 V6 camaro? I helped my uncle with his Miatas and it was quite tricky. I have a mechanic that can install for about $250. Should I just let him do it or is it easy enough for me and a few buds to tackle. Me and a friend installed headers on the car which was a long project...I just want to get some opinions before I attempt to tackle this.

Re: New shocks and springs

Its not too bad, you do need a spring compressor though. There is also a rubber piece that goes on the front shocks that wears out. Most people need to replace it and it is 100 for each shock. So beware of you could be spending some extra money. The rest of the install isn't too bad. The rears are a breeze, the fronts take some time. Find a install page to get figure out what your getting yourself into.

I would do the rear ones. I took my front to a guy I know.

Or you could just remove the front struts/spring and take it somewhere to compress it. just remember you HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL if you do it by yourself.
