Need a little help.
Need a little help.
I have a few things done to my car but my suspension is old and completely stock(WS6). I want to upgrade my suspension to be able to get the power to the ground better. I was thinking about a nice NEW set of shocks (maybe bilstien) a set of LCA's.I am mainly focused on striaght line racing but would still like to handle decent. any suggestions would help.
Thanks ,Sean

Re: Need a little help.
This is always a tough question, its very hard to get the car to do both (handle and launch) well. Anyway you go in my opinion you compromise one for the other. I tried to do this with my Z when I first purchased it and what I ended up with was a car that did nothing well.
About 2 years ago I decided I wanted to quit getting my *** handed to me on the street so I went completely straight line performance with it, Eibach drag launch kit, no front sway bar, BMR adjustable TA, BMR relocation brackets, and the one questionable purchase, KYB AGX 8 way adjustable shocks.
Not that the shocks are bad but in hindsight I should have went with at least the QA1s.
Its been my finding though that tires are the great equalizer, a good set of sticky tires will do wonders for straight line performance.
With the suspension setup for straight line traction and the tires.....its pure gold.
If I wanted to try to do the handling and stoplight to stoplight again I would build for the corners and throw the MT drag radials on for the late nite stoplight drags.
Sorry this is so long but the suspension revamp I did made a world of difference so I just wanted to say that its best to decide what you want the car to do and then build for that, you will be much happier in the long run.
