Need help on brakes/pads asap, pad is moving making noise
hey everyone. havent been on the boards lately and posting but i have been still looking through. anyways i have had a mysterious noise coming from my driver's side front tire when i go slow and make turns while stepping on my brakes. it made a loud metal to metal noise like a hitting noise kind of like a clunk. or clicking noise. anyway i took my tire off just now to check it out. i thought it was the pads or rotors and it comes to find out that the outside pad is loose and is moving and hittint the control arm making this noise. it kind of slides or shifts from front to back. just a hair enough to make contact with the control arm to make that noise. the control arm has an upper and lower support that is supposed to hold that brake pad in tight and stop it from moving.
anyways my front outside pad (the one you can see when looking at the caliper) is shifting and hittint those control arm suports. the pad isn't supposed to move at all and be tight in its place, mines not therefore making that noise. my question is how do i fix this? how do i stop the pad from hitting the control arm making tihs noise? this noise really bothers me but i know its not hurting anything but it is bothering me and it shouldnt do this. thers no shims or anything to put by the pads so i dont know what to do to keep this pad in place? how do i fix this asap? lmk guys. have you guys had this problem before or one like it? i hope someone can help me out to fix this i need to asap. thanks again, sorry for the long post just tried to make it understandable. any questions ask me thanks.
