My front end is wider... Touchy steering...
THis car acts COMPLETELY different at 80 than it does at 65. Ever since I lowered my car, I can tell my air is messed up if I'm behind traffic on the HW. If I get out into fresh air, the car acts a little better. At 65 my front end seems loose and wanders. Or could this be due to wide fronts (275)? I had it aligned after the lowering job. At 80 I can let go of the wheel and it stays straight. Much better at higher speeds.
Because my offset on the front wheels, the front is slightly wider than the back. Is this about right? A wider front will cause the steering to be a little more touchy? It's nice and tight on corners, tho.

I noticed my *** end wandering around once I put the 295s on the rears (termed "monorailing" I believe). I wouldn't be surprised if the 275s up fron are causing the same effect. The wider tires want to follow grooves in the road more. If you are in clean air you have more air pressure on your car possibly causing it to stay more firmly planted? Same reason for increased stability at higher speeds perhaps? The 'draft' you catch off other cars takes some air pressure off of your car. This is just speculation, I'm sure someone has the answer.
