Making your own SFC...

I'v been looking in to getting subframe connectors for a while now. But I started to think about it... and I realized, for the same amount of money it would cost for SFC, I could just buy a welder and make my own. (I already know how to weld, just don't have easy access to one)

So I was wondering if anyone else has done the same. What kind of metal did you use? Steel box tubular? I was thinking 2 x 2 and 1 x 1 (like the SLP) with 1/8th inch thickness.

Thanks! (if anyone has pics, that would be great too!)
