LT1 to LS1 rear brakes

I currently have a '99 rear on my car with LS1 brakes. I'm shopping around for a replacement rear and there are 2 people willing to sell me 3.42 rears, but they are both from an LT1 car. Would my backing plates and brakes go right onto an LT1 era rear end?

You will want to use all the LS1 rear brake stuff plus the LS1 axles in the rearends you are talking about. The rear ends exluding the plates, brakes and axles are the same.

So the 98-02 backing plates and axles are a direct bolt on to a 93-97 rear?

Yes they are a direct bolt on. You will also need to use your LS1 brake hard lines that run along the rearend.

Ok. I was just going to run the brakes that came on my new rear but they aren't as good. I was also having e-brake issues so I'm going back to what I know works.
