So you guys are saying that the rear brakes are fine, just get better pads, and the C5 front kit would be the best for the money for me. I pretty much just want the rears to match the front, so I guess i'll pull the calipers off and powdercoat them or something.

I'll probably go with the UMI C5 conversion kit then and the Hawk HPS pads in the rear. Anybody have anything else to add?

UMIbrackets

Trackbrackets
Sure seemed like you were bashing them. Don't get me wrong, the Trackbrackets are nice... but I just don't see any failure posts on EITHER item for you to back your statements up. The brackets look similar to me, both machined from aluminum. Just because you "own" a set of the Trackbrackets you think they are the best, its very common to have that attitude on the aftermarket industry. I just put on Pacesetter headers on a friends car and they fit great with no issues, I guess they are now "best" on the market since I liked them

The grey ones are stock C5 and the red ones were Z06 - same price at the Chevy dealer. If you want black, just paint some stock C5 calipers That would take about 15 minutes.

No, you take off the old mounts with a sawzall and grind them smooth. It's a one way upgrade - you can't go back. But you won't want to anyway.

save your self some money, buy the whole ls1 camaro frt brakes....$200 on ebay for the whole thing (spindle, calipers, rotors, pads etc.) all i did was rip off the spindle/brake assembly off, then installed the new spindle assemblies and put stainless steel lines on. eventually i'l put better pad and rotors on for track use. save your self some money, is the extra inch of rotor size worth almost $600 dollars compared to the umi kit??? use the extra money for racing slicks....
