lowering springs brand question

I have recently decided to set up my car for road racing. I have seen so far two companies that make lowering springs. One being Eibach obviously and the other being InTrax. Is there a real difference in quality between the two because the price difference is substantial. I know where Im getting my double adjustable panhard rod, control arms, ect... but the lowering springs seem to be the most expensive part of this setup besides the shocks.

Any help as to the differences and possibly the lowest prices would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

eibach
intrax
SLP
BMR
hotchkis

all make springs

search around and you'll find a comparison chart of different springs, their spring rates, and install height.

H&R is supposed to make some good springs. I almost went with them, but the Eibachs lowered the car more. Which is what I wanted.

I am curently running Eibach's Pro Kit on my 95. I was surprised when I went to order some Koni SA shocks. I was told by Sam Strano the top coils blocked the adjuster on the shocks. So if I want to run Koni shocks I need to buy new springs. Check Ground Control they sell complete pagages.

I am running BMR springs with revalved Bilstiens from Sam Strano, and it is like a day and night difference from stock.

Next mod is sway bars from strano!

www.stranoparts.com

Check him out, you wont regret it. He knows pretty much all there is to know about F-body suspensions.

Re: lowering springs brand question

My BMR springs lowered it just over an inch. Not too much, just enough.

Look into Hotchkiss springs also, if you like BMR.

Re: lowering springs brand question

Don't buy Intrax. You'll be disappointed. I put a set on my 2001 WS6 and the ride was absolutely horrible. I was still on stock shocks at the time, but even new shocks/struts wouldn't have improved it much. Any moderate bump in the road would cause the rear to hit the bump stops.

I'm pulling them out Friday night. I've got a set of Hotchkis and KYB AGX adjustable shocks and struts going in. I know, KYB's aren't the best, but for $300 and me only driving the car on the weekends, it's a good fit for me and my wallet.

Re: lowering springs brand question

What about the G2 Super springs? They look pretty tempting. Nice high linear spring rate in the front (550lb) and a decent progressive rate in the rear (180-220lb).

Re: lowering springs brand question

Thats the thing though Im not looking for ride comfort. I was looking more for handling, but I have decided to go with stock springs and koni SA shocks. They can be lowered up to 3/4" without even using a different spring, and I wont need adjustable suspension components now either.

Re: lowering springs brand question

with stock springs you'll have a nice ride. going up to 500/150 i notice the ride is not as comfortable but that's the trade off
