Lowering a '94 Camaro
Lowering a '94 Camaro
I am considering lowering my '94 Z28 basically only because I hate the gap in the wheel well. I was looking at the Eibach Pro Kit, which I believe lowers the car about 1.3", right? Does anyone on here use them or have any input on them like how is the ride quality? I don't want a rough ride. Also what shocks and struts are best to go with? And what is involved with lowering the vehicle? Relocation brackets for the lower control arms? If this is neccessary what is involved in doing this and why does it have to be done? Thanks.
Re: Lowering a '94 Camaro
I have the Eibach Pro system on my 94 TA. Any time you lower a car it is very hard to keep the ride the same as stock because the suspension travel is reduced. Although mine is not "rough" to ride in, it is a lot stiffer than stock. It's funny you ask because just yesterday my 78 year old grandmother needed a ride to pick up her vehicle from the shop. On the five mile ride she pointed out how well the car rode. For what it's worth it passes the "Mema Test".
Also my bumpstops show signs of hitting on the rear axle and I have a slight rub mark on the front wheel wells. Keep in mind I also have 18" wheels all around (275/40 on front and 295/30 on rear).
Hope this helps...

Talk with Sam Strano at stranoparts.com. He's a F-Body suspension expert and can help you pick the right components for your driving style. I'd take the opportunity to improve your handling while your improving the stance of the car. Sam recommended revalved front Bilsteins and 3rd Gen HD rear Bilsteins to go with my Eibach Pro springs. The ride isn't harsh; it's just firmed up and cornering is better.
