I need to change both my pads and rotors soon since my squeelers are going off. Plus since one of my rotors are warped I might as well change all four. I'm going with X-drilled/slotted rotors I just need to decide which pads to go with. I use to work at O'Reilly autoparts and the best we carried where the Wagner Thermoquiets. They seemed to be good pads but the only good versions where the ceramic pads and to my knowledge Wagner only makes a semi metallic pad for the 93-97 4 wheel disc F-Bodys. I have heard good things about the Hawk ceramic and HP pads. I was wondering if the HawK pads are worth the extra cost?

Thermoquiets suck on the f-body IMO. I had them and couldn't get them back off quick enough. They fade like crazy during hiway braking. I now have Axxis (PBR) Metal Masters. They work VERY well in comparison. They're on the level with Hawk HPS only less expensive. If you want mroe agressive go with the Axxis Ultimates. They're kevlar based IIRC and harder on the rotors though.

I figured he had to learn the hard way eventhough pictures with some nice cracked cryo treated x-drilled rotors were supplied.
There is always someone that won't listen.

 

The rotors I plan on buying are made by R1 concepts, I know quite a few people (read local not people on the net) that have used their rotors for years with out problems. I'm not dumb I know X-Drilled is mainly cosmetic but then again I'm not looking to go autocrossing in my convertible. I have already tried the cheap O'Reilly rotors ($30 range) and they are junk and I don't feel like paying around $70 for a decent OE rotor.

I have Hawk pads on the back and I'm happy with them so far.

 

I did my brakes recently, and took out my EBC greenstuff pads for some Morse ceramic pads. Wish I had gotten replacement EBC's instead, the pads i have now cannot compare to EBCs. The EBCs did warp my rotors thought, but they were the stock rotors.
