Longer wheel studs and salad shooters

Well i have a dillema. Will a longer wheel stud fit under the salad shooter center caps? I love my chrome salad shooters and don't want to drive around with no caps cause the wheel studs are too long but i have to be able to pass tech with the draglites. Any suggestions?

If you run longer studs, you will have to run w/o the plastic caps. I have longer GM studs and can run my Bogarts (12mm shank lugs) or a GM wheel (12mm acorn).

Or just get spacers and put em behind the wheel which will take up some of the threading on the studs.

Wouldn't make em stick out enough to make a difference. If he's running Drag Lites I'm sure he's got room for some fat tires back there, so enough of a difference between having an 1/8 inch thick cap on or off would hardly be noticable. Spacers are probably your only choice in this situation.

I have 1/2" X 3" studs in the rear axles, and was able to find a "duplex acorn" lugnut that is closed-end, and twice as long as a standard lug. It still required drilling the closed end out and threading through it, but at least it didn't stick out too far. With the depth of the 17x11 ZR1's, it isn't really very noticable. I tried to find the same lugs in 12mm for the front, but never could. But it might be worth a search. The duplex acorns are made by Excalibur, and JEG's has them in their catalog. Maybe a local "ricer" shop might have them in 12mm.

I think what i am going to do is drill holes in the center cap for the lugs to stick out with the salad shooters. I have an extra i will try and see if it works. If so I don't think it will look too bad.

Anybody know if stock lugnuts will thread through with ARP studs? Thanks guys!

I've got the ARP metric longer wheel studs front and back and don't have a problem using my factory lugs and plastic covers.
