Left-Hand Tap
Left-Hand Tap
Hey guys, I need help finding a 1/2" NPT "Left Hand" Tap. I'm trying to create a "turnbuckle" to connect my inner and outer tie rods on my manual steering rack (Pinto 71-73). I could use a conventional RH Tap, but that means when adjusting the toe I would need to disconnect it from the spindle.
Also is it a good idea to use jamb nuts on either side to keep it locked in position or is there something else that I should think about doing?
Thanks!

Why not? Aren't NPT, UNC, etc. all the same? The original instructions say to weld one end to the rack and then cut the treaded end to fit and if need be re-tap with 1/2" NPT Right Hand Tap. I just cut a small piece off and then was going to use a Left Hand Tap in the other end instead of welding so I can adjust it without disconnecting it.
