launching
launching
ok so the camaro seemed to launch much beter beore i lowered it...i LOVE the way it looks lowered and all but it seems now as if the suspen. doesnt sink at all..i can go to the back of the car a puch down possibly an inch in a half but the front doesnt come up much at all...i kno many people around here that run stock suspenchion and a 1.4 1.5 60...granted they have more power but i am wondering for the weight transfer and all to help my launch is there a strut/shock that i can do front rear to get the car to jump (raise front sink back) more or should i go back to stock suspen. with some shocks struts...
thanks

Re: launching
ok so..... hard to answer when you don't include any info about the year of your car, or the power level you're trying to put down. Since you're talking about "struts", can we assume its a 3rd Gen?
If so, I suspect the problem is that the back end of the car is dropping on launch already. When you lower the car, you put the body end of the LCA below the axle end. On launch, the LCA pushes the body end down, and lifts the axle end = no traction plus wheel hop. You need LCA relocation brackets to get the axle end of the LCA back down below the body end. Then on launch, the LCA pushes the body up, which forces the axle end down = good traction, no wheel hop.
Its good if you can get the front end up to the point where it unloads the front tires completely - that maximizes the weight on the back end. Loose struts (or shocks on a 4th Gen) and no front sway bar accomplish that. In the back, its not as critical, and can be done with stock springs and shocks at moderate power levels.

Re: launching
no its a 4th gen 94 lt1 a4...340hp on the motor...2800 stall...3.23 for now soon to be 3.42...plus possibly a 125 shot off the line
i have tubular lca's...just want more weight transfer...im considering going with
bmr lowering springs...SP001...opinions on thses???
shocks to match these im thinkin...qa1 shocks???
and relocation brackets...
or
RC7855P Front shocks - Drag Race "R" are these the same???
whats the differance between single adj. and double adj. shocks??? i want some good weight transfer

Re: launching
Lowering the car is not the best way to improve straight line traction.
What I said above about the LCA relocation brackers holds true whether its a 3rd Gen or a 4th Gen. Lowernig the car just makes it harder to keep the body mounting point above the axle mounting point.
Just a suggestion.... set up a "signature" with the info about your car, so people don't have to guess what it is. Might explain why you aren't getting much in the way of responses.
