KYB 8-way adjustable shocks question??

Just curious to what setting I should set the rears and the fronts.....settings 1-8......1 being stock (soft) and 8 being (stiff).

Primarily drag racing use......should I use soft on the back and stiff on the front or vise versa???

Thanks

Tony

I don't know the specifics of the KYB adjustables, but with the QA1/HAL shocks, I've had good luck with the fronts set at or near the "loosest" position (0, 1, or 2 with the QA1 12-step adjustment), and with the rears set at or slightly looser than stock (4, 5 or 6 in the QA1 system).

Not a good shock

I tried to search everything I could find about these shocks. Many people seem to not like them.

Koni SA or DA, or Bilsteins are the most perfered shocks.

Sam Strano doesn't like the way the KYB adjust.

I went with Koni DA, $850.00 for the set of 4. I thnk, I will know when they show up and I have my hands on them.

Search with my user name and you will find my post about the shocks.

KYB AGXs are a good street shock in my opinion and they are easy to adjust so I don,t know how anybody could not like the way they adjust.
They are not a very good drag racing shock I have found out but I would reccommend them to anyone looking for a decent street shock with easy adjustability.

W/ the QA1's.. What would give an "almost" stock ride? As far as dampning is concerned?

I realize it may be a lot to ask considering the new front spring rate is quite different than stock.

I am sure it is easy to turn the ****, but what happens when you do is the problem.

The impression I got was that when they are stiff enough on rebound they are too hard on compression. They crash into small bumps and such. I have not owned them but was interested enough to read what people said about them. I suggest a search under KYB AGX, you will find lots of people talking about them.

I would get Bilstein before I would buy the AGX.
