Koni Install on LT1 ?

In the middle of installing my christmas present. Rears in no problem. Passenger side in no problem. But drivers side im stuck. For an LT1 w/o the soft brake lines from the master cylinder how the heck do you get to the torx bolt under the master? I tried loosening the master and pusing it out the way, but even with extension and a wobble attachment I cant get at it.

The master cylinder unbolts from the vacuum reservoir with a deep 15 mm; pull it off taking care not to kink the brake lines.

I took the 2 15mm nuts attaching the master off. Are you saying you can pull it off with the lines attached? I tried loosen the damn flare nuts with no success. I do have a flare wrench and tried heat.

Yes, you can move it with the lines still connected. Its not hard to do. Just be careful with the lines. Let us know how you like the Konis. I have been thinking about getting some also.

SUCCESS! Too easy but im just reluctant to force stuff. I will let you know how they are. Im doing c5 brakes at the same time. Cant wait till a test drive. Now my only obstacle is changing the damn front brake lines. Those flare fittings wont budge.

Sometimes slightly tightening the fittings before loosening works to break them free.

Put the TORX heads in the passenger side and the hex head back in the driver's side.

Next time, you can get a wrench on the HEX without taking the MC loose.

As far as the Koni's go, you will love them. I went fron KYB's to the Koni's, and couldnt be happier. The ride is way better, and handles awesome too.

My SS has Bilsteins, but my old favorite is Koni. I had Konis on my BMW and they were outstanding. The B's are good too, and it's difficult to gauge the differences, but it seems the Konis were a little stiffer and have some tight rebound.
