J&M LCA installation question

I'm putting my LCAs on my car tonight and was wondering where the grease is put and how much do I use? Does it go in between the outside of the ball/inside of the bushing?

I put the supplied grease on every part that is rubber/poly and on the inside of the metal where the pieces fit. The more the better because it will be a very tight fit. You'l have to use leverage to get everything to pop in correctly but it will all fit if you don't try and use your fingers to mash it in. A flat head screw driver and crow bar with a rag wraped around it to keep from having metal to metal contact is your friend. G/L.

I can't get the ball/bushing to go together - even using a c-clamp. Is there a trick to getting it together?

the lower control arm should slip in with some resitance, but you say ball and bushing are you rebuilding lower control arms??? if so when I did my hotchkis lcas' I used a bench vice to press mine together.

I figured it out....you have to put the ball/bushing together FIRST in the end of the control arm and then put the bolt bushing through the middle...it then goes together easy. Here is a pic of what the assembly looks like.

Just finished....one more question....do the bolts have to be torqued with weight on the suspension?...or does it not matter?

Yeah. torque them down at ride height.
Just back your car up on ramps.

With our bushings you can torque them with the car in the air. They are not a bonded bushing design so they do allow rotation of the bushing in the arm.

Thanks for posting. I tried calling you guys last night, but couldn't catch you before you guys closed. These things are great! I can't believe how much stiffer the rear susp. feels and it def. rides different - just from replacing LCAs. Thanks for a great product!
