install question
Re: install question
The proper way is to press them out and in. This insures that the wheel bearing isn't abused. A lot of guys just hammer out the old ones, then use an open end lug nut to pull the new one in place.
Re: install question
Wheel studs press into the wheel hub. The hub bolts to the spindle (4 bolts). The rotor sits on the wheel studs and the rotor is captured by the brake caliper. So again, the proper way would be to remove the wheel hub and press the studs out and in. The shortcut would be to remove your wheel, hammer out the old studs (that are now exposed) and then pull the new studs in place using an open style lug nut. Your choice.
