well today i had to do a panic stop from like 100mph because something jumped out in front of me and when i parked at my house i checked out the rotor and sure enough there is a blue heat scorch mark about half an inch wide all the way around the center of the front driver's rotor and cracks run through it.

the passenger side is the same way although not as bad
Quit flooring the brakes at 100 and you wont have that problem.

hmm, for the most part blank rotors are pretty similar it seems

looks like a trip to discount is in my future for some bindix rotors. i think i'll be keeping my pads since they still seem to have life left in them.

GM OEM z06 pads

here is a pic, you can sort of see the cracks in the picture but in person they're clear as day

Those are just minor Heat checks. You will probably wear them off in a couple hundred miles of normal driving. Blue Hot ring nothing to worry about either . I've had them blue accross the whole rotor swept area. keep driving and enjoy them.

so there isn't a chance of them opening up farther?

they are much easier to see in real life, but they don't go too deep i don't think.

Doesn't look bad at all to me.

If you are going to buy new rotors, I would just get the same ones that skull leader listed. I think those are the ones I have with my C5 conversion also, and they've worked great. It's probably what you have on there right now.

Re: i cracked both of my C5 front rotors

alright, i'll keep these rotors a bit longer and monitor the cracks.

i got freaked out when i look at them and saw the cracks, the last thing i want is a brake failure -- especially how i drive.

thanks ya'll
