how important is the dog biscuit?

well i ordered shocks and strut mounts for my 95 Z28 but i didn't get a new "dog biscuit" (it goes inside the strut mount). i need it to drive by monday so i cut off the shock rod and drilled out the shaft to free the dog biscuit (nut was seized). its pretty worn and i plan to replace it within a month or so. will i be ok till then?

thanks

I reused it when I installed coil-over springs/shocks (no struts). That was 12 years ago. Still fine.

Re: how important is the dog biscuit?

thanks for the reply, finished it up today. drivers side strut mount fitment needed modifying. the hole for the shock shaft was too narrow, drilled it out. the threads for the bolts were out of wack, chased them and forced the bolts into them. these were KYB strut mounts. passenger side was no problem.
