how do I remove front spring and shock?
hey guys, I'm in the middle of converting my 94 brakes to c5's. I've got it down this far, might as well change front shocks and springs while i'm at it. I have in my posession some slightly used Eibach pro's and some Koni's (less than 5k miles from a 00 camaro ss) and was wondering how hard is it to remove the shock and spring in one piece. I'll probably pay someone to compress the springs. Thanks in advance

See the detailed spring/shock swap writeup, here:

Getting the spring/shock assembly out is not all that hard.

Here's an alternative method with photos. I used this method on two different f-bods.

I know I didn't have to on my 94 Formula. Cross your fingers.

thanks fellas, looks like I dont have to mess with them ball joints after all. Hey Fred, I read your article on modifying the jounce bumpers in the rear. How did those hold up after a couple months/year ? I think with the car lowered and 18x10.5 (stock zo6 rims) in the rear I might have to use your method . I'm currently driving on those rims (stock panhard bar). Had to modify the inner tire well with a BFH to make it work. Only problem now is it looks like a 4x4 on the freeway, hence the spring change. Thanks again for the tips, this is a great informative web site! Dean.
