Hotchis vs SLP Eibach springs

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the SLP Eibach spring/Bilstien package.
They say the SLP Eibachs take it, "UP TO 1" lower" and was wondering if anyone has those and if its accurate.
I was also looking at the Hotchkis with the 1inch drop. I've had my 95 z28 for 11 years now and it's completely stock(except for the k&n cold air kit.) Its mostly a commuting car with a rebuilt lt1... so I just want something a little better than stock w/out dropping too much. I take it to the absolute limit at times(especially around turns,) but for the most part, am pretty mellow! 18" rims w/ 245/40/18's are also coming in the spring if that changes anything.

Was looking at the Koni yellows because of so many good posts about them but they are over my budget... the Bilstine /slp eibach spring package looks right about in my ball park.

Also, was in the sphoon website and saw LCA relocation brackets. Are they absolutely necessary.... even for a 1" drop?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if they are revalved or not. It doesn't say anything about being heavy duty though. I found the package at www.slponline.com. It was the only package with the Bilsteins and springs that I saw.

If its from SLPonline then it isnt the revalved version. Strano is the one who has the revalved versions that he does in order to suit the customer. The package you are looking at is built my the manufactures for SLP specs, so they arent the prokit or shocks that you would buy seperate from another source besides SLP. I had a post not to long back trying to figure out what suspension to go with and in order to get the info I needed i called up sam strano and he headed me down the rigth path.

Heres the post, it has some good info.

Those Bilstein shocks are unlike any that you can buy by themeselves. They were/are valved specifically for those springs. A call to Sam Strano wouldnt hurt though.

Happy to help.... I sell both the setups you mentioned, and a WHOLE lot more too. And it's no trouble to discuss pro's and con's of each. One thing to remember is a total package price, and that Koni's can lower the car slightly on their own, no springs or adjsutable PHB needed. While the shocks are more money than others, if you don't need to buy other stuff you get out cheaper in the end (or you could).

I can't recommend you anything unless we speak, but I think you'll find it a worthwhile conversation. And because I sell so much variety, I have no reason to tell you one is good or bad unless I think it's not right for your needs. SLP sells only SLP. Hotchkis sells only Hotchkis, and many places have one or the other, but not both, or other options.... And that tends to lead to a situation where you're told what behooves them to sell Brand X. When we sell X, Y, and Z we don't have that issue. A sale is a sale, a customer is a customer. I prefer them to be happy with the result, that's what makes folks come back.

Thanks everyone for all the great input. I will be calling Mr. Sam Strano this week for some more advice and a possible order. This site is great... if it were a real place, I would move in!

Thanks again everyone
