I sold my 93 z28 6 speed and will be looking for Ls1 T/A hopefully soon.
I drove my buddies 95 Supra all the way from Va to FL and if my Camaro handled as well as the Supra, I would have never sold it. I want to know can I get this handling from a late model T/A ?

 

Absolutely. Springs, shocks, & swaybars are the best starters. Just look around and you'll find a ton of info on what's best. I think as far as shocks are concerned the best are either konis or revalved bilsteins. Springs are more a matter of ride height and stiffness, you don't have to be as worried about individual brands on that.

 

Our cars are always going to be a bit squirrely on bumps compared to IRS cars... but some money spent in suspension upgrades will improve the handling of the car a lot. The supra is also a bit of a pig so the two would probably compare reasonably well when your LS1 is set up properly.

 

Really think springs aren't better by brand name?

 

I would be more concerned about spring rate and ride height than I would about which brand they are. BTW I'm not saying that cut springs, ebay springs, etc. are the way to go. Eibach, BMR, as long as it HAS a brand name it should be good. Of course, there are springs that are more suitable for a specific for a specific purpose than others; for instance, I've got variable rate springs on the back of my car- great for going over railroad tracks, but probably less predictable on the track.

 

sway bars made my car feel like a totally new vehicle...

as did the SFC...much more solid in the uneven pavement and in curves. made me realize how bad the crappy stock shocks actually were.
