Gotta change brakes, What to do about rotors??

Hey guys it's about time for me to change my brakes, I was just gonna go with some autozone pads to keep things simply, now my question is what should I do about the rotors? I've changed pads before, but I've been doing research and it's recommended to change the rotors or get them turned. Does anyone know an approximate price that autozone charges for 4 new rotors? Are they that hard to swap out?

Also has anyone ever painted the center of thier rotors? I'm trying to think of something since the center always seems to get rusty.

Thanks!

Autozone or Advance etc, can set you up with rotors.
Fronts cost about 20 bucks each, rears are a little more expensive since they incorporate the emergency brake as well. You should be able to get out the door for about 120 for front and rear rotors and decent pads.
They are pretty simple to change if you have basic wrenching skills.
I would not bother turning a rotor nowadays since they are so cheap.

Since you're looking at Azone, check out the Performance Friction pads.

Cool, thanks for the replies!!! I've done alot of brake work before, but I've never had to change rotors, so hopefully I'll figure it out!

i did my front rotors yesterday, and pads all around. the rotors were i think 26 each and pads for all 4 wheels were about 40 bucks. it's not bad at all, you can do it in about an hour with simple hand tools.

I changed my front brakes yesterday, too. Got the AZone Duralast rotors @ $39/each, I wanted to get the semi-metallic pads but all they had were the organic lifetime pads for $19.99. The job was easier than I thought. The only problem I ran into was not having an 18mm socket. My socket set only went up to 17mm & my wrenches for some odd reason skipped 16 & 18 mm. So far the brakes are stopping great.

Why did you need a 18mm socket?

I have LS1 brakes on my car, and I don't remember using a 18mm socket. Only socket that was even close to that was the nut used to hold the lower control arm to the k member.

The caliper bracket bolts are 18 mm, the caliper bolts that connect to the bracket are 12 mm.

Oh yeah, the bolt that connect the caliper to the steering knuckle, right?

I wouldn't use organic pads.
