Front LCA bushing options

I don't feel like going all out and getting expensive tubular front lower control arms. But I would like to replace the stock bushings with something a bit better. I can imagine putting a polly bushing in the rear position would make the control arm impossible to move. Does anyone make anything better like a ball type joint that will press into the stock control arm?

Re: Front LCA bushing options

1LE Front Lower Control Arm Front Bushing (GM p/n 22145392) $15.44

1LE Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bushing (GM p/n 22156434) $35.77

1LE Rear Lower Control Arm Bushings (GM p/n 10164152) (4 required, bushing only) $8.40

* These are solid rubber and not cutaway for soft ride like the stock Z28 bushings. I would expect them to be a pain to install.

* I would just order the arms, save a major hassle. Unless your ride is very low miles.

1LE Front Left Lower Control Arm (GM p/n 52367658) (arm complete with bushings and Ball Joint) $112.72

1LE Front Right Lower Control Arm (GM p/n 52367659) (arm complete with bushings and Ball Joint) $112.72

1LE Front Left Upper Control Arm (GM p/n 22204674) (arm complete with bushings and Ball Joint) $113.28

1LE Front Right Upper Control Arm (GM p/n 22204675) (arm complete with bushings and Ball Joint) $113.28

*I ordered these parts and got the correct parts. They have a blue paint dot on them and no cut away areas on the bushings.

Re: Front LCA bushing options

The Energy Suspension polyurethane front upper and lower A-arm bushings are excellent. The ES lower A-arm bushing uses a different design for the "vertical" bushing. It has excellent flexibility with a 3-piece "ball" design, using a hard nylon intermediate ring. It can be done at home, but burning the old bushings out is a bit messy. I have the full ES poly front end.

Re: Front LCA bushing options

I had originally boxed my stock control arms but i wanted poly bushings. The only problem is the poly bushings cost almost as much as new control arms. So i just bought some aftermarkets.

Don't really want rubber agian. The Global West set-up is like $200 just for the lower control arm bushings. Energy suspension seems a bit more what I'm looking for. Summit Racing sells a complete bushing set for the whole car for $145. Do you know if it includes their upgraded LCA rear bushing?

Re: Front LCA bushing options

I bought the ES poly kit to rebuild the upper and lower control arms. I only used the upper set of bushings as I decided to go with the BMR lower arms (come with bushings) to go with my tubular K member. If you want the ES poly lower bushings I'll sell them for $35 shipped. Shoot me a PM if interested.
