A few chasis questions.
A few chasis questions.
I would like to upgrade my suspension and chasis before a do any more power adding mods. Id like to do all of the following mods.
-Strut tower brace
-Subframe connectors
-Panhard bar
-Lower contral arms and relocation brackets
-I would also eventually like to lower the car 1-2 inches.
Here are my questions.
Is it worth the extra $ for the adjustable Panhard bar and LCA's. I have no idea what im adjusting here but with a lowered suspension would these be a must?
Also would triangulated subframe connectors and a triangulated strut tower brace be worth the extra money.
And would my car have to be realigned before i put all of this stuff on.
Im on a budget here so i would like your guys help to make some intelligent choices.

Re: A few chasis questions.
I recommend an Hotchkis 2 pt STB and get a regular set of weld in SFC's.
If on a budget, you can skip the relocation brackets and the adj. Panhard bar. Cut your current coil springs 1 coil to lower the car and box in your lower control arms. You can also change the bushings.
The car will be a lot tighter. You will need to have the car realigned afterward.

Re: A few chasis questions.
if you plan to lower the car you need to get shocks that will handle the springs. Your stock shocks will go real fast once you lower the car. If you want someone to tell you what is good and what is not I would goto sam stano's website. www.stranoparts.com or call him. Before i buy anything for my car I call him and see what he has to say. 1 814 849 3417 he will set you stright. he doesn't try and sell you anything you don't want or need, he a good guy. btw if you want to lower the car sam is going to tell you to get the koni sa, when he told me that I was thinking, 800, man i could buy cheap shocks, springs, and still have money leftover. But the koni's are worth every penny, once you put them in you'll wonder how you ever lived without them. kind of like sfc's good luck
Re: A few chasis questions.
I guess my first question is what are you objectives for these upgrades? Drag racing? Road racing? Improved street manners?
If you are looking for handling, this is the order that I would do my mods.
1) shocks (might want to do springs at the same time to save on labor costs)
2) performance alignment
3) sway bars : 35mm front, 21mm rear
4) APHB w/ rod ends, no harshness penalty from the rods ends in this location. You want adjustables to center the rear end after lowering.
5) LCA's.
The point I would emphasis here since you are on a budget is put the money into the shocks - they will make an enormous difference and its not something you want to buy twice. Second, forget about the strut tower bar. Its nice to look at, but I doubt that it sees any real load under cornering. Ive driven identically modded cars with and w/o once and cannot tell the different on a track.
