Eibach's lowering spring's
Eibach's lowering spring's
Hey I just bought some Eibach lowering spring's for my 01 firebird formula and I took it to the mech to see how much it was going to cost to get them installed. They said an estimated price of $480 they didnt know if I had to have shorter shock's put on. And I was wondering if I lowered my firebird 1.75" would I need to have aftermarket shock's put on it? And I was wondering if this was a job that I could do at the hobby shop? I have a good amount of knowlege about old muscle cars I dont know to much about new cars though. I just wanted to hear what all this job entail's from sombody that has done it before.
Re: Eibach's lowering spring's
That sounds a little expensive you might want to shop around i really dont thing you can do that at a hoby store unless you have a spring compressor and dont mind the possibility of lossing and arm. My advise have someone do it for you but shop around like i said that seems expensive
Re: Eibach's lowering spring's
You're getting ripped off! Straight forward to change; you can buy a spring compressor (threaded style) and do it yourself. One challenge is the nut on top of the shock likes to rust in place and there is the potential to destroy the shock to get this nut loose. It's a good idea to replace the stock shocks anyway; Bilsteins are a common choice for an upgrade.
