Ebrake acting weird

This morning I left my car running to go inside the gas station. I went to pull the ebrake up and it just pulled all the way back with no resistance. I did this several times, and finally it caught and had resistance to it. Anyone know what the hell is gong on here?

Re: Ebrake acting weird

Look under the car in the driveshaft tunnel and verify that your cables are attached properly. It could also be the ratcheting mechanism itself (what the e-brake arm attaches too).

Re: Ebrake acting weird

That sounds like the ratcheting assembly under the console. It makes up for wear so the e brake always comes up about the same amount. But sometimes I've seen the ratchet paw jam and not engage. Just need s little lube.
