Question Ebay Slotted Rotors?

I know that someone will probably reply to this and tell me to search the forum, but I already did. I was just wondering if anyone has bought the slotted rotors on ebay from raceparts.com, they say that they're from Hawks Racing. On previous threads, members have said they like them, while on the other hand, some say that they hate them. For the price, I think that they're a pretty good deal. I would just like some members opinions that have already purchased these. Thanks.

Might be good if you would include a link, so people could actually look at what you are talking about.

Aren't these the same rotors from them for $15 less?

How will gas escape from the rotor (which is the point of drillled or slotted rotors) if the slot doesn't even go to the end of the rotor?

If you read the description closely, it says that those ones are for the rear. It confused me too at first. I had to go back and forth between the two to finally see the difference.

The slots are not there so gas can escape. They actually help to clean the pads. Holes are put in rotors to allow outgasing to escape. This is not nearly as much of a problem with todays pad compounds as it was years ago. What little outgasing modern pads produce is of no consequence on the street. You will also almost never get the pads hot enough to cause them to outgas.

Pads have microscopic pockets of air in them, when they heat up the pockets of air expand and come out of the pad. Also compounds used to hold the pad together, when super heated cause gases to come out of the pad. The theory is gases comming out of the pad will push agianst the rotor and decrease braking force. For competition applications holes are drilled in the rotor to allow the gasses to escape through the rotor.
