Dimples in fender..body flex related?

So since I bought my car a year ago its had a tiny dimple above the back passenger wheel well...always thought it was a door ding but today I noticed another one next to it and slightly larger...and no marks on the paint at all. Any chance this could be caused by flex in the body? Would sub-frame connectors do anything for it? Just wondering if this is a common problem in cars without them.

This happens to all fbodies. The body flexes enough to put a dimple that looks like hail damage in it. Subframe connectors would fix it. Paintless dent removal will fix it.

I noticed that on my car when I bought it. Too bad the previous owner didn't make subframe connectors one of the first things when he bought it, it may have helped.

Thanks for the replies..I've been thinking about getting SFC's and now I'm ready to come off the cash considering this...whats the best brand to get that will provide the most rigidity? I know weld in is better but do the 3-point style provide any noticeable stiffness over the 2-point ones?

The 3-points are supposed to offer more rigidity over the 2-points, but I doubt you will notice the difference. I would go with a set of 2 point weld ins and call it a day. Spohn, BMR, and UMIperformance all make them.

Both of my Camaros had this too, I always thought it was door damage too. I'll be looking into SFC's now.

Although I've never seen this problem before I'm not convinced it's caused by body flex. The quarter panel it's selfe carries no structural load at all. Also, all twisting in the chassis would take place forward of the LCA mounts.

Just my 2 cents

Mine are real faint, I doubt a picture would even capture them. You have to catch the car at the right angle and lighting in order to see them.

Thanks for the pic, captured it well.

Not sure how sub frame connecters would help in that situaton though. Looks to be in line with the jounce bumper/shock mount area.

Any of you guys with this problem use air shocks in back or possibly bottomed the suspension really hard?
