Delco VI ABS video...

This is video for Buick's, but this system is in the 93-97 F-bodies. It gives a decent view on how the ABS modulator and motor pack work(cut away modulator and motor units). I found it helpful in understanding the system.

Re: Delco VI ABS video...

That's a pretty good video. My ABS never worked, but only malfunctioned, and I eventually removed it when I did line lock & proportioning valve, bigger brakes, etc. I think there is a design or software flaw in the ABS where it fails unsafely. With my car, starting when it was maybe 2 years old, I would be slowing to a stop, then it would activate ABS, the brake pedal would go to the floor, and the car would continue to move ahead of where I intended to stop, then finally stop. This was on dry pavement moving at about 5 mph. I was able to fix the problem, at least temporarily, by reseating the front wheel sensor connectors. And I was never able to induce it to work by slamming on the brakes. So anyway, it's ripped out now and I don't miss it.

Re: Delco VI ABS video...

The brakes on my Z have never been as good as was on my 96 3.8 V6. The initial pressure on the brakes is good, but braking force does not increase as it should the deeper you press the pedal. I feel my Nissan truck brakes are better than my Z right now.

I "think" I've had a brake on a motor pack going bad for a long time. No amount of pressure bleeding has fixed the issue. So I hope to fix the issue by replacing the motor pack. I've replaced the master cylinder and done the LS1 brake upgrade. So far....brakes are still mediocre.
