Cutting Drag Springs?

I want to lower my car but I don't want it lose the weight transfer. So I was thinking about cutting about 1/2 a coil off the front and rear springs. I will be using a cut off wheel so I won't have to worry about getting the spring to hot.

Has anyone done this with Eibach Drag Springs?

I wouldn't receommend cutting springs. Back in the day, that's how many of the import cars did it to get that very low look. However their cars rode like crap. By cutting the springs, you'll end up changing the spring rate characteristics that the springs came with.

Re: Cutting Drag Springs?

Cutting a spring raises the spring rate. The more you cut, the stiffer the spring.
Drag springs are that rate for a reason.
