to coil over....... or not to coil over, that is the question
to coil over....... or not to coil over, that is the question
have some bilsteins and DMS springs on my 94, rode decent, wish it was a bit more firm honestly, the shocks need replaced, and I was looking around at various setups and started wondering if I should just do coil overs.
The car does a track day or two a year and the rest of the time is hitting the back roads and the highway late at night. So I'm not sure if the cost is justified, any input?

Re: to coil over....... or not to coil over, that is the question
Have you considered Hal's 12 way adjustable shocks??? You could use your DMS springs along with the hal 12 ways for a pretty sick setup. I run the Hal 12 ways up front with the Hal drag springs and love it. You can take it all the way down to a 0 for the front end to launch (lift up) or you can go to 12 for a very stiff ride for the road coarse. I usually run at about a 8 for street driving.
VERy nice setup.

Re: to coil over....... or not to coil over, that is the question
If you want the option to choose your own spring rates or take advantage of corner weighting and ride height adjustments than coil overs is for you. Don't know the rates of your DMS springs, but if you want a stiffer ride than a Ground Control kit with a custom rate spring will work. Just talk to an expert about what rate will work for your application first. Sam Strano seems to be the resident expert here, you may want to ask him.

Coil-overs are a great option if you want total control over spring rates and ride height.
Please don't put Hal shocks on your car unless it is a drag car. Koni SA is one of the best routes to go.
