Smile Check out my SFC's

Heres a few pics of the SFC's I built. Its 2x3 .120 tubing, with 1/8" flat stock plates in the front. It was a PITA to cut the floor and stitch weld the entire thing inside and out, but its worth it. I forgot to take pics on the inside, but the only thing I will have trouble with is the carpet not touching the floor behind both front seats. The black stuff is caulk for metal to metal fits. Let me know what you guys think.

i'm in chassis fab at Wyotech, we can't buy anything we can make. Also, if you tie the floor in with the SFC, it will make it that much stronger.

Not bad.. so can you fab up your own torque arm, that is the big dollar item.

Re: Check out my SFC's

No, didn't fab that up, my instructors let me buy it, we did make a panhard rod for about $5 and boxed the stock trailing arms, these classes are great, but i'm not a expert fabricator by any means.

Re: Check out my SFC's

yeah, a torque arm would probably require a fixture for welding, although if you did make a fixture you could prolly sell them pretty easily for a little cheaper...

Re: Check out my SFC's

I went to wyotech 5 years ago back when laramie was the only campus. Chassis fab was a cool class, I really enjoyed it. I'm now a BMW master technician and shop foreman at a BMW dealer in Georgia. There are some good opportunities outta wyotech.

Put a roll cage in while you are there. That is really big bucks on the street.
