Changing out the jounce/bump stops?

I was flipping through the new SLP catalog when I saw the part about jounce bumpers for 17" wheels. It says they are needed when upgrading a 16" wheel car to 17" wheels. My car rides a little harsh [mods in sig] on these damn Ohio roads. So I was wondering if I got the new bump stops, would they make any difference in reducing the ride harshness? I would think that would allow a little more axle travel. I was thinking of getting them if my stock bumpstops are torn up.

That would make things worse for you. It moves the bump stops down so that they make contact with the axel sooner. So you will be reducing the wheel travel and riding on the bump stops more often.
