changed rear pads, now ebrake has no tension/doesnt work

i changed the rear pads on my t/a, now I need to pull the ebrake skyhigh for it to engage even the slightest. wtf did I do wrong and how do I fix? its sitting with one wheel off in the dark

You compressed the caliper pistons when you installed the new pads; start the engine and pump the brake pedal several times to bring the pistons back into position. This should cure your e-brake issue.
